A sandbox style is a very, very freeform rp that almost will let you do anything. However, every action leads to a consequence. It could be good or bad, your actions result in your rp experiance. For example, randomly killing an NPC loyalist will give you a bounty and loyalists will be after you. However, the rebels would like you more.
We here have strived to make this a site where it is not looked upon good or evil; rather, it is looked upon as too much government control vs. too much freedom. Both sides are good and evil. Take this into account when choosing a side and rping. You should also, however, take into account that loyalists and rebels have a hatered of each other. They disagree with morals, political standpoints and government spending. The rebels can be refered to as the republican/democrat party. They are people that believe in absolute freedom. The loyalists, on the other hand, could be seen as a constitutional monarchy. A ruler with limited power that is influenced by the people, therefor constantly changing from too much to not enough.
When rping, make sure to be careful about the enemies you make. Making an enemy in your group while having no enemies in the other may be a good time to swap sides. Which reminds me, you CAN swap sides, but only once. You can't constantly go back and forth or neither side will accept you and you'll probably die instantly. Also, if you are in a fight, make it epic. Seriously, make every fight seem as if your life depended on it. A Mad Archfiend CAN beat a drunken blue eyes white dragon . And don't spam spells. One per post please...really, one per post!!!
As for the buildings. Being a sandbox rp, you can destroy buildings. However, try to refrain from destroying any important buildings. If you do, you WILL get a bounty placed on your head. And if you destroy the black market (or even try) the rebels AND loyalists will be chasing your ass to jail! That's because neutral territory is seen as something to be protected by both sides. It's used by both sides so...yeah.
A sample rp between me and a fellow admin will be posted or linked to below. Hopefully the sample will help your understanding of how the system works.
