Name: Shion Kurosaki
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Personality: Shion is a very business orientated woman with a huge impression of what is right and wrong. She views the world as black and white - You either do something, or you don't. There is no middle ground. She is a very simple person with very simple values in life. She observes the world through eyes that see it with a cynical, overcritical view, and she has a barbed wit that is hard to control. She would be one of those perfect political critics.
“An individual's self-concept is the core of his personality. It affects every aspect of human behavior: the ability to learn, the capacity to grow and change. A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success in life.”
Through her personality she is very adaptable to different concepts. She is driven by the hunger for knowledge and understanding. She can better critique people when she can understand what they are all about. She has a very good self-image of herself to top it all off with confidence that doesn't suit her seventeen years of age.
Appearance:
A smart beauty. A face that could barely be the cynical person beneath. Her smile is charming. Her brown hair is usually tied back in a loose ponytail behind her head due to her focus on work instead of her looks. She wears blue-tinted contacts to cover her naturally brown eyes. Her bangs usually border her eyes, following the line of her eyebrows. She keeps a slim figure that isn't so much a toned figure as thin.
Biography: A lot of biographies begin with a tragic past. It is what creates a character, a story. Conflict. However, not much conflict, by Shion's standards, has happened in Shion's life. Many presume that because she doesn't talk about her past, it's a horrible one, but really it was nothing at all.
Her parents were middle-class, and she had an older brother. She was always the one in the corner of the class who had problems talking to people, not because she was disinterested or she was trying to make them feel insignificant, but she just always felt like watching instead of talking. She grew up in the world of dueling as most children did, and she also grew up in the world of computers, learning a bit more about them then most children.
She was a brilliant coder from a young age, learning most of the things she needed to know at a very early age. She spent the majority of her time helping people with coding for their computers, and was somewhat of a child genius both with card design and with the coding behind duel discs, constructing one for herself at the age of 14 that she still uses.
That's not to say that she's a Mary-Sue in any aspect of the word. She still has to work very hard for her goals. Her intelligence only gets her so far. Her life's ambition is to open up her own company. She wants to make forward advances in the dueling industry but she needs the resources to do it. She's hopeful in the future that she will be able to inherit her own company or start her own company.
However when the conflict began and the Duel Monsters became real she felt that these magnificent creatures could not be used for war. She merely decided to go against Loyalist regime. This has had negative consequences on her progress to own her own company though.
